Ontario Technology Corridor: The Global Green Capital

July 5 2010 ORCI – The Ontario Technology Corridor traveled to Texas for the Windpower 2010 trade show in May and to Munich, Germany for the Intersolar Europe conference in June to plug Ontario as the world’s leading destination for renewable energy companies seeking expansion or relocation opportunities.

The events are the latest efforts by the Ontario Technology Corridor, a provincial-wide partnership formed to advance the economic interests of Ontario, notably in gaming and now prominently in clean tech, to invite global renewable energy companies to the region. (more…)

City drinking water to get promotional push

April 28, 2010 News from Ottawa – The City’s world-class drinking water will receive a big promotional push over the next few years after Council today approved a plan to promote it and raise awareness of its exceptional quality, improve access to drinking fountains in municipal facilities and promote the health and environmental benefits of tap water.

Ottawa spends about $121 million annually to supply drinking water described by Ontario’s Chief Drinking Water Inspector as “one of the safest in the world.” The drinking water promotion plan will reinforce public confidence by more effectively communicating to residents the advantages of drinking tap water and improve public access by ensuring access to City drinking water in municipal facilities.
